Looking for a better way to
Looking for a better way to do things and a better way of life with nature.
My husband and I were trying to buy a house last year was off grid had solar with genarator back up. House was on 5 acres .applinces were propane refridge ,dryer,furnace,and hot water heater.
house was set up for solar postioned to make best use of the solar .Owner had even bermed soil to provide a wind break to provide optimal use. We had house inspected everything was oked there.only thing that they found was a few mice dropping..
the day we looked at the place on the inside it was about15 degrees with a 20 mile wind .The owner had been gone since 6 am we where there at about 11 am. house was nice and toasty warm at 72 dgrees.For us was perfect. We had made offer was acepted .But when underwrite for the loan came out saw was off grid they said no way wont lend on it because was off grid . So my question is how to get fianancing for off grid homes.they said if we could find at least 3 like homes that sold in the past yr they might lend on it. but we couldn't. last I looked home is still for sale but price has went up from 92 thousand to 125 thousand.
Any Ideas here or were to go to get fianancing?
