Is Clean Energy a lost cause with record high Oil Prices?

Good comment!

Yes, it took the astronomical gas prices to get drivers to finally start rejecting these crazy gas-guzzling automobiles. If that's what it takes then we've got the formula!!

Finally, raising awarenes about Climate Change is as mainstream as milk, and it's no longer 'radical' when public school teachers implement Peak Oil lesson plans:

I'd say we're gaining ground here!

Big Oil Good for Environment - Really!

I'm getting bent over the pump just like you are - and I think Big Oil is a bunch of criminals. But let's acknowledge that thier greed is doing a lot to make alternatives to oil a priority to many Americans. Yes, its like stoping a heart attack by shooting yourself, but there is an upside that we should acknowldge - market forces are making wind, solar, and alternatives more economical by driving up demand and bringing down costs as these industries scale up. The problem is that market economies aren't that efficient - things that don't make good sense like ethanol will be invested in until governments quit subsidizing stupidity and giving your tax money to big agraculture and pretending that its "green" when it isn't.

Porn funded the internet growth. Big Oil is making solar and wind industries grow. No wonder economics is a dismal science.
