Many of us think of “green buildings†as those that generate on site energy, conserve and even recycle water, and of course have high insulation, low-E windows, and passive solar design. What many of us don’t always think about is how the spaces we share and the homes we live in affect our own health, with indoor air quality. Indoor air quality happens to be a very large part of a green building, so much so that it has its own section in the U.S.G.B.C.’s LEED rating system, dedicated to components and features that help you breathe easy, literally. Today we would like to take you through some great indoor finishes and paints that are more natural, much greener (though not necessarily in color) and of course, well designed. After all, sustainability doesn’t mean losing out on luxury or design.
