G8 Countries Reluctant to Set Short Term Emission Tragets

The G8 countries have endorsed bringing down the global greenhouse gas emissions by fifty per cent by the year 2050, however they did not specify a base year for emission cuts. Moreover, they have been slammed by environmentalists and the UN alike, as they have steered clear of establishing short term targets.
