Beach Combing for trash.
This is a really fun pastime as well as a great opportunity to watch the fascinating Sea Birds. We made it a morning drive along the beach to find what came in during the hurricane storms, those are the best times. My wife and I, as well as many other RV'ers, have done this for years during our stays on the Texas Gulf coastal areas. Galveston has trash containers positioned for countless miles along the beach. Padre Island also has dump stations at entrance points. While the controversial drilling crew was working the National Seashore a while back, they trucked out the bags, as well as the large items we dragged to the edge of their track. If anyone is interested in facts, they left the area cleaner than they found it, intact and completely restored. http://daflikkers.blogspot.com/
