Search was fixed before the images, actually. Back on day two or three, we had a server failure caused by a bot hammering the search box, and it looks like our throttle settings after that were over-cautious and didn't allow for a lot of traffic growth, so the search box was being automatically disabled under normal site traffic - that's been corrected. Search is restricted to registered users, so you need to be logged in to see the search box, which is in the upper right (although we might be moving it to a more intuitive placement in the next round of layout tweaks).
