Watch out in some communities.
In many communities it is against the law to use gray water, such as rigging your kitchen sink to put gray water directly to your grass, or plants (I did this too). I had a house in Florida that had all of the washing machine water dumped into a gray water "tank". I was told the first owner built this tank system bypassing county/city codes. Later when selling the house I was told to hide this from the realtor-as a sin of omission.
