Cod
For years the 'Draggers' came from other countries to completely scour the seafloor off the New England and other coasts, for all practical purposes 'sterilizing' the continental shelves, where the vast majority of Earth's fish live. The Grand Banks were at one time the most plentiful fishing grounds in the world. Now they are barely sustainable, if at all. The Cod suffered immensly. For some reason it's cousins seemed to hold on slightly better. Hopefully the 'scraping for protien' is somehow being monitored a little better in these times. I rather doubt it is completely regulated as well as it should be. This should be a start if it is ever to return to it's former harvest. Malthus was prophetic. 2050 is the date for 'field testing', at current population growth. interglacial.wordpress.com
