Millions say it is too much effort to adopt greener lifestyle

It's just a habit

My Mom (age 69) told me that she won't recycle because it's too much trouble. I tried to convince her that it really isn't, but forgot to remind her that she's been recycling aluminium cans for the past 30 years! We started when some cousins were collecting cans to raise money for Boy Scouts. Recycling aluminium has become a habit, so it's easy for Mom to do. And of course that's what happens when we develop new habits -- after a while, it just becomes 'normal' to do, and no extra effort. I'm working on the new good habit of not using my dryer, but hanging the laundry outside. It gets easier every week.
