Hoosiers offered thousands in rebates for installing geothermal heating & cooling

Indiana's state government is seeing tremendous success in its rebate program to replace traditional heating and air conditioning units with geothermal systems. Since the program launched on Oct. 1, the state has approved $186,400 in rebates from a $500,000 fund.Lt. Governor Becky Skillman recently toured WaterFurnace International's headquarters in Fort Wayne where she described the rebate as a win-win situation for residents and the state's renewable energy industry. "Geothermal heat is a homegrown source of energy that benefits our economy in different ways," she says. "The rebate program makes it affordable for families to improve their home's energy efficiency, and also keeps businesses like WaterFurnace International in Indiana."
