I received an environmental petition in the mail the other day. I assumed it was from one of the environmental organizations, such as Union of Concerned Scientists, which regularly sends me petitions. Interestingly enough, this particular petition was from the National Academy of Sciences and was against the US signing the Kyoto agreement.
"The United States is very close to adopting and international agreement that would ration the use of energy and of technologies that depend upon coal, oil, and natural gas and some other organic compounds".
The petition arrived with a couple of supporting documents that indicate global warming is not only a hoax, but if the US signs the Kyoto agreement, science and technology will be hindered thereby affecting health and welfare of mankind.
