'Subverting the green aesthetic' is motivated by a desire to inform emergent green consumers about 'greenwashing' tactics used in marketing and becoming prevalent in product design. Nick Bampton has created a range of products that while they may look 'green' they are more pouliting than there "un-green counter designs"

I have recently worked on design project for an eco sandal. It was important from a PR view to get some numbers involved. I have posted a 5 step process to calculate the embodied energy and carbon footprint of the material in the design. It would be nice to see a great interconnection between designers and materials, please build this into SW.
