Ford has long been the rumored company to come out with a hydraulic hybrid vehicle. They still might, but it's UPS that will beat them to the punch with this roll out early next year.

Chrysler considering Dodge EV as first Electric Vehicle
Chrysler has hinted that it's going to produce the Dodge EV as it's first foray into the electric drive vehicles market. They said that they'll mass produce one of the three that they announced earlier this week but weren't telling us which one they'll choose.

Chrysler unveiled today a set of three new electric driven vehicles developed by their ENVI brand. One for each of the three brands under chrysler's umbrella. Looks like GM will have some competition in the electric vehicle market.
Algae based Ethanol facility coming online next year
A company called BioFields is hoping to change that. The mexico based alternative fuel company has a factory set up in the Sonora desert in New Mexico that they hope will produce 1 billion gallons of ethanol by the year 2012. The 1000 gal capacity transparent bioreactors have five inputs: Algae, sunlight, CO2, nutrients and seawater. Outputs are: ethanol, oxygen and freshwater.
