There are several ways to eliminate chlorine or significantly reduce the use of it in your swimming pool. While the pool industry remains skeptical of their effectiveness, use of chlorine alternatives is on the rise.

The New York Times covers chlorine alternatives for swimming pools.  Swimming pool chlorine can be harsh on your skin and often requires a lot of maintenance.  Many in the pool industry still believe that chlorine is the best option, but there are a number of chlorine substitutes coming to the market that provide a greener alternative.

The solemn ceremony of the start-up of the new TCF-bleaching department has taken place at Neman Pulp-and-Paper Mill on the 20-th of July. This event is a landmark one not only for the North-West region but for Russia as a whole. Neman Pulp-and-Paper Mill (NPPM) is the first pulp-and-paper enterprise in Russia that has completely rejected chlorine and chlorinated substances in paper production.
