This is the most complete / comprehensive list of recalled toys I have seen yet. It is even more complete than what I found at the Consumer Product Safety Commission's own website. I can't believe how many toys have been recalled! My niece is getting socks this year.

In an effort to promote healthy eating habits among children in California, the California State government distributed about 56,000 lunch boxes made in China. After the children were already eating out of them the government tested them positive for lead. That was a few months ago. They just told us today that the lunchboxes are being recalled.

No matter what measures are taken the possibility exists that toys will be contaminated. The possibility exists because they and many other toy companies have opted to relinquish control of their products by outsourcing labor and production to China…a country that has if anything in the past few months, shown a blatant disregard for product safety. Why should I as a consumer trust ANY of those companies that have opted to relinquish quality control…rigorous testing or not?
