Modern Eco Blog » Blog Archive » iPod Speakers That Are Cool and Eco-Friendly!
I’m a bit of an electronic junkie. I’m always interested in hearing about the new, cool, gadgets on the market, and then when you add a “green” aspect into the design, I dig, dig, dig it! When I saw Vers 2x’s iPod speaker system, I fell for it hard.

Apple is Green to its Core: But not Eco; Money
Opinion, with puns! ... "Apple Computers is giving us working proof that environmentalism fails in the face of business. If a company produces things made of solar power, we think that’s green, as in environmentally-friendly, right? But if that company attempts to patent this technology, therefore not wishing to share/spread/encourage all competition to do the same.........."

Apple raises prospect of solar-powered iPhone
A patent application suggests that Apple is working out a way of powering portable devices with the sun using the touchscreen as the conduit.
'Apple' not as green as it should/could be!
So .... who, in the electronics industry, is at the forefront in fighting climate change and who is sadly ignorant to the fact that everything is hotting up around them. Maybe we should all think twice and take things like this into consideration before making that next electronics purchase.
Are high-tech companies green hypocrites?
Green sells, whether the product in question is a hybrid car or a laptop computer. Tech firms know this, but they also face growing scepticism as a result of the the deluge of greenwash we are all being subjected to.
Cherish the AIR? Just because you can doesn't mean you should
Bit of a dig here about Apple's trendy new laptop and why Apple might not be as good for the environment as hety would like us ot believe they are now.

An Apple A Day | Breakfast at Stefanie's

In this post I will begin addressing the issue of combining food.
Al's Apple Mess
I wanted to recommend this article as a follow up on Apple's mercury-free computer. It seems like when a company appears to be making progress there's always a step back. Unfortunately, it seems to be Al Gore — ?! — is helping to slow such progress. It's baffling to me. Would love some feedback on this.
Greenpeace lauds green Apple
Greenpeace is salivating over the MacBook Air and what it means: "Apple is getting greener, you can almost taste it" is the title of a Greenpeace blog.
First Mercury Free Computer Unveiled at Macworld 2008
Apple is making a stronger commitment to the environment, as evident in the unveiling of it's latest laptop, which is the first computer to be mercury free. It also boasts arsenic-free glass and lead-free circuit boards, among other features. Apple has been on the environmentally conscious path since 1990 from their product designs to responsible manufacturing. According to the website, Apple plans to eradicate the use of PVC, BFRs and arsenic in its products by the end of 2008.

Why Does Al Gore Hate the Environment?
Despite Apple's notorious GREENWASHING campaign, the fact remains that the IPOD is one of the worst scourges to the environment in recent memory--Story of Stuff's expose covers that well and good. What about Gore's involvement? (No, not that oil stock ownership scandal...)
What is a Green Product?
A study among PC brands the study lists “Apple's customer base [as] the greenest, with 17% of its customers in the bright green categoryâ€. Is this the same Apple that was slammed by Greenpeace for its lack of responsible green policies, resulting in Steve Jobs coming out with a statement vowing to clean up their act, only to receive another rebuke months later for not sticking to what they promised?
