Contrary to popular belief, cigarette butts do not biodegrade. Yes, they break down, but they can still pose problems for beaches, waterways and human and ecosystem health.

Target Shooters in the Mt. Hood national forest in Oregon have literally trashed the place.

Now that the snow has pretty much all melted on the side of the roads, all the trash that people have thrown in it all winter long is now visible. Today on the way to work I noticed the state of NH highway department has already started collecting it and bagging it on the I-93 which I think is great. I think this weekend I might take a walk around my neighborhood and pick up all the soggy trash I see.

Instead of bagging up all those pretty fall leaves and stacking them out at the curb, turn them into compost, and save energy and landfill space.

One of the big problems with litter is that the global big brands pump millions of pounds into promoting and advertising their products and ultimately don’t care about the fact that their global brands are also creating massive amounts of rubbish!
