Kingsnorth in Kent is to be the main focus of this year's Camp for Climate Action. From 4th to 11th of August climate activists will gather at the site of E.On's proposed new coal-fired power station, the first to be built in the UK for 30 years.

Yep, Charlie has joined the clamour against new coal and, while he didn't go as far as Gore and call for "rings of young people blocking bulldozers," he did stand up in front of the European parliament and ask some searching questions.

Al Gore recently expressed surprise that there weren't thousands of young people blocking bulldozers and preventing them from building new coal-fired power stations; this morning, I was part of team of 60 trying to do just that - shutting down a coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth in Kent where the owners want to build a brand new station.
