I bought several packages of theses GE energy smart bulbs at a Sam’s Club in Las Vegas for $2.86 per pack - the regular price is over $10.00. One guy I talked to there called it the “deal of the century.” We replaced most of the bulbs in the house and I love them, they give off a brighter, kinder, light and don’t give off much heat, which is great when your in a desert!

Recommendation for buying energy efficient lighting online. Site provides color, temperature and true lumens ratings. 

Modern design isn’t what it was years ago. Previously, a home that was described as modern referred strictly to its looks. It had modern lines or a modern look to it. It had all the features you’d expect. Very little (if any) thought was given to efficiency. In our time of global warming, modern homes are starting to take on a much more environmentally friendly and environmentally conscientious approach.
