A year after it was practically wiped off the map by a tornado, Greensburg is rising again — and going green, too, with solar panels, wind turbines, tinted windows, water-saving toilets and other energy-efficient technology.

Simran Sethi, award-winning environmental journalist featured on the Sundance Channel and sundancechannel.com, is documenting Greensburg’s recovery as a “Green City” with her new series The Good Fight. She’s also promoting a fund-raising effort to help citizens rebuild their community.

Environment Canada, after reviewing amateur videotape of the twister, determined the tornado packed winds of more than 400 km/h - strong enough to qualify as Canada's first-ever F-5 tornado on the international Fujita scale. A sign of things to come perhaps?
